Keychains with a secret…
My bachelor's was in digital culture design where I was first introduced to 3D printers and what they could do, but unfortunately, back then it wasn't much. Mind you this was back in their infancy, but even then I knew there was potential for fun.
The digital relic series is me experimenting with a concept called recombinant technologies. Recombinant might be more of a term for those familiar with genetic engineering where they combine different genetic sequences into other forms to create something new.
This concept exists in all things. Taking others and combining them into something not completely new but definitely not the norm.
Fancy talk but what does it mean? ecactly?
To put it plainly, I started thinking about what I could combine to get more function. Like, keychains are cool, but what can they do for me? Since I have knowledge of coding and design, and I as a human have the amazing ability to learn and grow, I started putting games and web content on my keychains and more. That way, they have some function. While I know apps are a thing, I'm honestly sick of apps and sometimes a physical object is nice.
